How Powerful Forgiveness Is

From Award-winning author Kaylin McFarren comes a powerful novel about love, loss, and the power of forgiveness...

Flaherty's Crossing

Successful yet emotionally stifled artist Kate Flaherty stands at the deathbed of her estranged father, conflicted by his morphine-induced confession exposing his part in her mother's death. While racing home, Kate's car mishap leads her to a soul-searching discussion with a lone diner employee, prompting Kate to confront the true reasons her marriage hangs in the balance. When her night takes an unexpected turn, however, she flees for her life, a life desperate for faith that can only be found through her ability to forgive.

Prince Of Peace

“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6)

I don’t know about you, but I desperately need an extra measure of peace in our day and time, especially during the holiday season. The biblical key to peace is Christ’s Authority!

Webster defines “peace” in this way: a state of tranquility or quiet; a state of security or order within a community; a state or period of mutual concord; without strife or disorder… When the Lord Jesus becomes your Lord and Savior, you gain access to His peace.

The Book of Isaiah uses the word peace 26 times. God promised the nation of Israel peace when they returned wholeheartedly to the Lord. Isaiah 26:3 says, “You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” In 32:17 Isaiah tells us, “The work of righteousness will be peace, and the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever.” Again in Isaiah 48:17-18 & 22, “Thus says the Lord, you Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: ‘I am the Lord your God, Who teaches you to profit, Who leads you by the way you should go. Oh, that you had heeded My commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea’…’There is no peace,’ says the Lord, ‘for the wicked.’”

The apostle Paul concluded the book of II Thessalonians with this benediction, “Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all.” Ephesians 2:14 states, “For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of division between us.” Paul also says in Philippians 4:7, “and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

More importantly, Jesus Himself says in John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

When you have Jesus as the center of your life, He is the “still water” and tranquility you need to sustain you in a world of turmoil and chaos. He is our example of peace and our inspiration for peace. When we make peace with Jesus, we are no longer at enmity with God. Our salvation guarantees us peace forever with our Creator.

Jesus becomes our peace as we bend our knee to His Authority. Because He is the Vine and we are the branches (John 15), we are to receive that peace from His reservoir. Peace comes to those who gladly receive downstream, that which Jesus begins upstream. We find our security in Who He is. Colossians 3:15 says, “And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.” He is the source of a peace that surpasses all understanding…

Books To Stir Your Mind & Stretch Your Soul

Author Deborah McCarragher had a desire to publish her first book, MISSION POSSIBLE – Spiritual Covering for years, but it literally “sat on a spiritual shelf” until God released her to have it printed in late 2007. It has since been revised and re-released in 2009. The book addresses the struggles and difficulty of a marriage when one spouse finds the Lord first. Being unequally yoked after you are married can present a unique situation.

Deborah’s mission is to encourage women through scripture to believe in God’s Word to transform their husbands, and by challenging women to minister to their spouses in a way that glorifies God. The author’s candid approach makes this book an easy read, and compels the reader to join her in her quest to reach her husband for Christ. Alabaster Box Publishing’smotto is: Books to stir your mind & stretch your Soul!

The Compassion Of Jesus

But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.

Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.

Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.

So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.

The Faithful House

Every church that I have ever attended had a prayer ministry. Prayer is one of the heart beats of the church. Prayer is important, and Jesus said "My House shall be called a house of prayer". There are many scriptures in the Bible that speak of prayer from the book of Genesis to the book of Revelations. There are many accounts of Christ praying, the Apostles praying, and also many accounts within the old testament about prayer.

Prayer in many ways is the lifeline of our communication with God. Through prayer we communicate with God, make our requests known to Him, enter into His presence and stand the gap as watchmen for others. It is good to pray for others. In fact, it is a humble privilege to pray for others.

In the book of Acts prayer and the laying on of hands are mentioned in various sections of scripture. In many church's today prayer and the laying on of hands is actively pursued and the ministry of the Holy Spirit flows freely.

Actually God made prayer very simple. It doesn't take some spiritual giant to pray for people. It just takes a willing vessel to step out in faith and allow the Holy Spirit to be the Holy Spirit. It's when fear, lack of faith, a religious spirit, the precepts of men and having a good church service show gets in the way and hinders the Holy Spirit, that prayer ministries become in affective. That well scripted situations.

It amazes me how we sometimes turn the Kingdom of God into this well micro managed process as if we could add something to it. It amazes me how we sometimes take the simplest of things and make them difficult and within that process diminish the power of such and the anointing of God among us. I somehow don't think Jesus had that in mind

Seeking Always Leads To Finding

When we seek hard after God, we find a wonderful relationship with Him. Yes, He is the God of the Bible and reading the Bible is essential in coming to know God, however it's in those private prayer times, worship and meditations that we encounter God's in a much bigger and profound way. After all, God is a God of relationships, as you will find that out in the pages of the Bible from Adam to John in the book of Revelations. Seek after God and you will find a wonderful realtionship with Him.

Encountering God's Love & Presence

Worship! When we as believers enter into worship and give glory to God, God's pours out His love and presence upon us. That's not to say that when we do not worship God that He stops loving us. However, worship touches the heart of God and God simply responds to our worship.

Let everything that has breath, praise the Lord.

The Sands Of Life

Just imagine if your house was not built on concrete, but rather sand. Things could become very unstable at any given time. A earthquake could occur, or a winter storm. There could be a flood, or even a mudslide. The results could be very bad. Just imagine all the potential possibilities for disaster if your house was built on sand. Now imagine your life being built on sand.

Here are the words of Jesus on the matter. Life changing words that are over 2,000 years old, yet eternal.

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

They key is reading, knowing, understanding and holding onto the sayings of Jesus.

Oh the Problems With The Tongue

The tongue is a small member that can start major fires. Many times one person will open their mouth and cast forth slanderous statements about another. Many times those words fall into the ears of others who pour out gasoline on the fire. Before you know it, everyone's having a bon fire. Gossip and slander are not Kingdom seeds. They are seeds of the flesh, the carnal mind and they empower the forces of darkness.

Take Heart, Press Forward & Shake The Dust Off

Friendships is not always what it appears to be. Sometimes people let you down. Sometimes intentionally and other times un intentionally. Sometimes people wave gifts in front of you and come across as friends only to later show their true colors. Sometimes friendships prove to be less that friendships.

There is one that sticks closer than a brother. His name is Jesus, and he will never leave you, nor forsake you.

Spirit Breathed Or Error?

1Ti 2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.

1Ti 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

1Ti 2:13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

1Ti 2:14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

1Ti 2:15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

What Is The Mark Of The Beast

Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

The Great Intercessor

Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Rom 8:34

Who also makes intercession for us. Oh what a friend we have in Jesus, the Risen Lord.

And The Door Was Shut

Mat 25:1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

Mat 25:2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

Mat 25:3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:

Mat 25:4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

Mat 25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

Mat 25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

Mat 25:7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

Mat 25:8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.

Mat 25:9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

Mat 25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

Yet all were virgins...

Stand Upon The Rock

2008 is simply past history and 2009 is upon us. Our world is struggling in so many areas, in so many situations and the circumstances, well, they just seem to be intensifying.

Much like watching a hurricane building and creating strong winds. However, there is a eye in the midst of such storms where the air currents are calm.

May the Prince of Peace be the eye of the storms that arise in your life. May Christ be the Rock that you stand upon and may the Spirit be the wind in your
